I went to AMAHAC for a hearing test. Trey Singleton did the tests and helped me pick out the best hearing aids. He explained the test results and how the hearing aids would help me hear better. He is very knowledgeable of the whole process. He was very nice and courteous with a genuine concern for my wellness and understanding. I’ll be going back in about a week to get fitted with my first set of heating aids. I’m looking forward to being able to hear conversations again!

Overall experience was good, however it felt a bit rushed. There was another person scheduled at the same time as me and was waiting outside. I didn’t feel I had adequate time to investigate the different choices of hearing aids. I wanted to know more about the two newer technologies and other brands. I felt a bit pushed toward a kind I had before. I wanted to know what my options were. Got a lightening speed explanation. I ended up with a newer design, one that I chose before I could really get a clear understanding of the differences and how it would all work on my phone.

Jeff immediatley examined the unit and discovered it needed factory repair. ALPS sent it out and was able to get me back to hearing in no time! ALPS will be my hearing aid service from now on. Had a 9am appointed about right hearing aid. Listened to my issues, took hearing aid and tested it right then. Told me microphone was not working. Began boxing it up to send back to manufacturer, then said it would be back in 10-15 days. Told me it was still under warranty and would call when it came back. Very efficient and straight forward. Took me less than 5-7 minutes to walk out.

Yes the room at Boone is small but its perfect for what he does. I needed a new receiver for my Starkey and an adjustment on the other ear and he was great. Also a thank you to Trents mom who answers the phone and fit me in on very short notice. A must go to place for hearing aids whether you need new ones or get maintenance
